VapeX Stores Battery Safety Warning

VapeX Stores | Vapor Shack

At VapeX Stores, including Vapor Shack, your safety is our top priority. Please take the time to review the following Battery Safety Warning to ensure proper handling and use of Li-ion cells.

WARNING: Li-ion Batteries Have Inherent Risks

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion cells can result in severe injury, property damage, or even fatalities. Always adhere to these safety guidelines:

General Safety Guidelines
  • Keep out of reach of minors (under 18 years old) and pets.
  • Avoid exposure to extreme heat: Do not place batteries in fire, ovens, microwaves, or environments exceeding 100°C (212°F).
Storage and Transport
  • Always use a protective case: Do not carry or store batteries outside of protective packaging. Protective cases must prevent cells from touching one another.
  • Never store in pockets, bags, or purses: Keys, coins, and debris can short-circuit batteries, causing explosions.
  • Carry by hand: Use a fire-retardant case for added safety when transporting batteries or devices with installed cells.
Device Use
  • Do not pocket devices with installed batteries: Pockets may contain debris or objects that can cause malfunctions, short-circuits, or damage to protective wraps.
  • Ensure devices match battery specifications: Only use batteries rated for your device’s maximum wattage (W) and amperage (A).
Inspection and Maintenance
  • Inspect batteries regularly: Do not use batteries with dents, tears, nicks, punctures, corrosion, or other visible damage.
  • Replace batteries when necessary: Replace cells after 12 months of use or when capacity decreases.
  • Recycle damaged batteries: Use local recycling centers or manufacturers like Hohm Tech for proper disposal.
Charging Protocols
  • Never leave batteries unattended while charging.
  • Remove from charger immediately after fully charged: This prevents potential overcharging.
  • Charge only within recommended voltage limits: Typically, this is 4.2V for charging and 2.5V for discharging.
Multi-Cell Devices
  • Prevent direct contact: Ensure devices have non-conductive barriers to separate cells and prevent short-circuits.
  • Do not mix batteries: Avoid using cells of different capacities or mixing used and new batteries.
